About this session

In this discussion, we will explore the tension between P&L pressure and corporate standards in Supply Operations. Global standards can create consistency, scalability, and control, but local business realities may require different approaches to achieve commercial and operational outcomes. The discussion will focus on practical situations across Order-to-Cash, delivery, shipment, and supply standards. A particular focus will be on the differences between standards that are global or local, formally defined or simply "lived" in the organisation, and internally established or externally imposed through regulation or other requirements. The goal is to exchange practical experiences on how organisations can design standards that create consistency without becoming a constraint on business performance.

Discussion Topics:
- When should Supply Operations deliberately deviate from a global process standard?
- Which parts of Order-to-Cash benefit most from global standardisation, and where is local flexibility essential?
- What makes a global supply standard work in practice across different plants, markets and customer requirements?
- How do you build the business case for deviating from a corporate Supply Chain standard?
- How do you govern exceptions without allowing them to gradually become parallel processes or de facto local standards?
- What role should data and process transparency play in deciding whether a global standard is actually delivering the desired outcome?
- How should Supply Operations handle standards driven by internal governance versus external regulation or customer requirements?

Be prepared to share your experiences in this small gathering.
