Across many organisations, the CIO mandate continues to expand. We are expected to simultaneously ensure operational excellence, modernise core enterprise platforms, and enable innovation through digital, data and AI capabilities. In practice, these priorities often compete for the same resources and attention. Demand from the business continues to grow while IT capacity remains constrained, creating constant tension between running the business, delivering transformation programs, and enabling innovation.
In our organisation, we are on a modernisation journey with significant ambition around enterprise platforms, delivery capability and data-driven innovation. At the same time, we are working to position IT as a trusted partner and strategic enabler to the business.
