In this discussion session we will focus on defining and implementing a data strategy in a decentralized organization. The perspectives to be discussed include:
- data mesh and the “data as a product” concept
- centralized/common versus decentralized capabilities
- how to enable collaborative work on shared platform components
- the role of a data platform in the AI landscape (model development, data exploration, and AI agents)

Discussion questions for you to consider in advance:
• What are the key roles that should be in a centralized team, and what can be distributed across the organization?
• What is important to consider when enabling collaborative development on a shared data platform?
• What is important to consider when enabling data exploration through natural‑language interactions?
• What is the role of data products and the shared data platform when implementing AI agents?
